The PlayStation 4 teaser Konami pulled from the store in 2015 is circulating again through an unusual route: a native Windows port of P.T. by an enthusiast, not an emulator. The developer identified as LoreanXavier says the project rewrites P.T. logic and rendering in C++ and Vulkan from the PS4 executable.
According to the description published with a roughly 30-minute gameplay video, the port is about 97% done and still has no release date. The author says the package does not include game assets. Anyone who wants to run it must supply data from their own copy.
What the prototype claims
In the author's account, the prototype covers the demo from the first-boot screen to the ending, including the voice step with offline speech recognition. It also drives the original Lua scripts, traps, cutscenes and Lisa's animation, plus a rendering path rebuilt from the PS4 shaders: deferred lighting, local reflections, depth of field, motion blur, bloom, film grain and the ending fog.
- The PS4 demo was locked at 30 fps; the port is described as running above 60 fps at any resolution.
- Mouse and keyboard, hot-plug controllers and optional AMD FSR 3.1 or NVIDIA DLSS are listed.
- Audio uses a custom runtime for the Wwise banks, with radio, subtitles and vibration.
LoreanXavier says frames were compared against the original running in the shadPS4 emulator, with scripted input and recorded cameras. In that process, the author says a texture-streaming bug that draws black stripes on walls and floors was fixed. That fix is the author's statement, not an independent confirmation from the shadPS4 team.
Why it matters
P.T. launched in August 2014 as a disguised teaser for Silent Hills, Hideo Kojima's project with Guillermo del Toro and Norman Reedus. After cancellation, Konami removed the demo from the PlayStation Store. Consoles with it installed became collector's items, and Lisa's corridor went on to influence horror games such as Visage and Layers of Fear.
A native port does not bring Silent Hills back and does not authorize redistribution. What would change, if the project reaches players, is technical access: free resolution, above 60 fps and PC controls, provided the player already has the original data. There is no statement from Konami or Kojima Productions about the port.
