Dynasty Warriors 3 Remastered Switch 2: 1440p docked, 30–60 fps

Omega Force producer Tomohiko Sho detailed how Dynasty Warriors 3 Remastered Switch 2 will run. Docked, the build aims for 2560×1440. Handheld output is 1920×1080 with upscaling. The frame rate stays variable between 30 and 60 fps.

What happened?

In interviews with GamingBolt and Respec, Sho said the team tuned the game so the Switch 2 can field the same on-screen character count as other platforms. That is why it does not lock at 60 fps. Most of the time it stays above 40 fps, he said.

DYNASTY WARRIORS 3: Complete Edition Remastered launches October 1, 2026 on PC, PS5, Xbox Series and Nintendo Switch 2. The original Switch SKU was cancelled.

Targets by platform

  • PS5, PS5 Pro and Xbox Series X: 4K via upscaling at 60 fps
  • Xbox Series S: 1080p via upscaling at 60 fps
  • PS5 Pro: higher internal resolution, PSSR and denser Nanite meshes
  • Switch 2 docked: 1440p; handheld: 1080p upscale; 30–60 fps
  • Switch 2 split-screen: about 30 fps

Series S and Switch 2 skip Lumen dynamic global illumination. Artists use hand-tuned lighting instead and cut vegetation density and mesh detail. Omega Force is considering graphics- or performance-priority modes in a later patch.

Why it matters

Musou combat lives on hundreds of soldiers on screen. Cutting density just to hold 60 fps would change the game. Dynasty Warriors 3 Remastered Switch 2 aims for the same horde, an elastic frame rate and docked VRR when the hardware allows.

Pre-orders by September 30 include the retro Red Hare saddle. A Hulao Gate demo is on the eShop.
