WoW Forever: Blizzard raises the beta population cap again and fixes queues

WoW Forever is filling its beta servers again. Holly Longdale, vice president and executive producer of World of Warcraft, said Blizzard raised the test's population cap once more and that a bug filling login queues has been fixed.

What happened?

On X, Longdale wrote: “So... we had to increase the WoW: Forever Beta population cap again. The wild ride continues.” The post went up on September 27, 2026. Blizzard also said on the beta forum that it found an issue causing queues to fill and shipped a fix.

The WoW Forever beta opened on September 17, 2026 with a level-20 cap and runs through October 21. Worldwide launch is November 4, 2026 at 3:00 p.m. PST, included with a World of Warcraft subscription or Game Time.

What WoW Forever is

WoW Forever is not a season or a temporary Classic. Blizzard frames it as a reimagined original Azeroth with a permanent level-60 cap, more than a thousand new quests, zones such as Zephras Isle, the Riverglades and Mount Hyjal, and nine new dungeons. Instead of traditional realms it uses rulesets: Normal, PvP and Roleplaying; Hardcore arrives after launch.

Why it matters

A second capacity bump in a short window shows WoW Forever is drawing both 2004 veterans and players who left after Wrath of the Lich King.
