Usual June delayed to January 20, 2027 on Steam

Usual June, Finji's supernatural third-person action-adventure, has been delayed. The studio known for publishing Tunic and Night in the Woods announced the title no longer arrives on October 28, 2026 on Steam and moves to January 20, 2027.

What happened with Usual June?

Gematsu reported the delay. Usual June puts the player in control of June, a young woman who was supposed to have a quiet summer in Fen Harbor but ends up investigating threats that could obliterate the city. The game mixes fluid monster combat, ghost dialogues and exploration of secret labs, buried tunnels and haunted observatories.

Production is led by creative director Adam Saltsman, creator of Overland and Canabalt. Writers like Cara Ellison and audio director Adam Hay collaborate. The cast includes 25 living and dead characters.

Why the Usual June delay matters

Delays allow more polish on indie projects. Usual June already had demos available on Steam and trailers that built expectations. The new date places it at the start of 2027. The demo remains open for those who want to try the combat and atmosphere before full launch.
