Ubisoft renames Creative House 2 as Massive Entertainment

Ubisoft announced on Wednesday, September 30, 2026, that the internal unit known as Creative House 2 will now operate as Massive Entertainment. The nearly 30-year-old Swedish brand absorbs the publisher's tactical franchises and original projects.

What is in the Massive Entertainment portfolio

The umbrella now covers Tom Clancy's The Division, Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon, Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell and the original IP March of Giants, acquired from Amazon. Ubisoft also mentions unspecified new IPs.

Development teams in Malmö (the original Massive Entertainment studio), Montreal, Paris and Toronto will share the same identity. Christoph Hartmann, appointed earlier this year as general manager of Creative House 2, remains in charge.

Why the change matters

The move is part of Ubisoft's restructuring into Creative Houses with clear ownership of each brand's long-term growth. Massive Entertainment, known for the Snowdrop engine and the original The Division, becomes the public label for these tactical teams.

Hartmann said unifying the teams under one identity lets the company combine creative energy and technical expertise for the next generation of those franchises and for new games. Ubisoft says live-service operations under Massive Entertainment will not be interrupted.

What is still unknown

There were no release dates, no production status for the Splinter Cell remake and no timeline for March of Giants. Ubisoft remains the publisher and distributor of everything released under the Massive Entertainment label.
