The manga Houkago Kitaku Biyori (放課後帰宅びより), by Mai Matsuda, is getting a TV anime. It is set to premiere in April 2027 on Nippon TV, according to the announcement published on October 8, 2026 by Dengeki Online and the adaptation's official site.
The series is a school-club romantic comedy. Senpai Sato Naoki, nicknamed Chokki because she keeps saying she wants to go home, and freshman Sato Shun, who gave up a dream after a soccer injury, grow closer in the "hyper going-home club." The manga has run in Futabasha's Manga Action and Web Action since 2023.
What has been shown
The teaser visual shows Chokki waiting for someone at the school gate, the most literal image of the club. Matsuda also released a commemorative illustration. Cast, studio and animation staff have not been announced. The confirmed credit so far is the original work: Mai Matsuda, Futabasha, Action Comics.
Manga volume 7 came out the same day, October 8. The official site and Dengeki point to a limited free trial read on Comic Action, with three volumes free until noon Japan time on October 21, 2026, and one volume free from October 21 to November 4.
Why it matters
This is a new adaptation of a title still little exported, not a continuation of a franchise already covered. Nippon TV as broadcaster gives the project an open Japanese TV window, but overseas streaming, dubbing and an exact episode date remain open.
