AION 2 launches worldwide on October 5, 2026 for PC, on Steam and NCSOFT's PURPLE. The night before, the Korean publisher runs a live special at 8 p.m. Japan time (8 a.m. in Brasília), with early-access players in the Temple of Fire.
What happened?
The official global site confirms the AION 2 launch on October 5. Founder's Pack buyers already entered a five-day early access window, from September 30 to October 4. 4Gamer reported that NC detailed the "AION2 LIVE" program, the pre-service broadcast set for October 4 at 8 p.m., including a Temple of Fire challenge alongside players already in early access.
AION 2 is not new everywhere. NCSOFT launched the game for PC, iOS and Android in South Korea and Taiwan on November 19, 2025. The global PC debut was planned for September and delayed to October 5, according to Gematsu. That August announcement did not list consoles in this window; the current release is PC.
Why it matters
AION, from 2009, was known for combat in the air: Daeva fly, and the sky is part of the fight, not only travel. AION 2 is built on Unreal Engine 5, and NCSOFT describes a world 36 times larger than the original. Verticality stays central: every region and every battle was designed in three dimensions.
It is also a major test for NCSOFT outside Korea. The title has already run for nearly a year in its launch markets. The move from September to October was tied to checking servers and infrastructure, the same reason for the Launch Scale Test on September 17 and 18, open to people who signed up on Steam.
What changes in practice?
From October 5, the global AION 2 account enters official service. Anyone who creates an account by December 2, 2026, at 3:30 p.m. Japan time, gets two mounts sent by in-game mail, once per region, claimable until December 9. Founder's packs, on sale until October 6, include 30 days of membership and, in the Deluxe pack, Ascended Daeva and Eternal Sun weapon skins on top of the standard contents.
