Xiaomi Vision Gran Turismo arrives in Gran Turismo 7 in October, the first Chinese-brand VGT

The Xiaomi Vision Gran Turismo arrives in Gran Turismo 7 in October as the first car from a Chinese brand in the Vision Gran Turismo line. The confirmation came on October 3 at round three of the 2026 Gran Turismo World Series in Singapore, with series producer Kazunori Yamauchi alongside Jean-Arthur Madelaine, head of design at Xiaomi's European car R&D center.

What happened?

Polyphony Digital placed Xiaomi's electric concept in Spec IV Part 1, set for October 15 on PS5 and PS4. According to gran-turismo.com and GTPlanet, that slice of the update also unlocks the Sportsland SUGO circuit and six new cars. The Xiaomi is among them, with in-game footage shown in Singapore.

The collaboration was announced in June 2025. Xiaomi has already shown a full-scale model in Barcelona around Mobile World Congress 2026 and again at the Beijing auto show in April. The company describes the car as sculpted by the wind, with an active wake-control system.

Why it matters

Vision Gran Turismo is the program in which manufacturers design exclusive prototypes for the game, without having to put the same car on the road. Until now the list was dominated by Japanese, European and American brands. Xiaomi's entry is the first VGT from a Chinese brand, and it lands as the company tries to establish itself as a carmaker, not only a phone maker.

The update also debuts driving content built around electric cars, a first in the series' roughly 30-year history. Experience mode, according to Singapore coverage and Chinese outlet Leiphone, includes challenges with the Vision Gran Turismo and the Xiaomi SU7 Ultra. The point is to train acceleration, braking and the behavior of a high-performance EV, which delivers torque immediately and brakes differently from a combustion car.

What changes in practice?

Gran Turismo 7 players on PlayStation get Part 1 free on October 15. Besides the Xiaomi and SUGO, Polyphony had already listed for October a Spec IV opening cinematic, a Vintage section for cars no longer sold new, the Car Concierge service, a garage viewer and a higher collector-level cap. Part 2 is due in December, with Autumn Ring, six more cars and the next evolution of the Gran Turismo Sophy AI.
