CONFIRMED: Flyway Games has opened a Halloween-themed private playtest for Waltz and Jam, its hand-drawn action-adventure. The test runs on Steam from October 29 at 00:00 to November 10 at 11:59 (Pacific Time) and opens the gates of the Shadow Castle, a chapter where light and darkness intertwine.
To take part, players must complete at least 3 of the 6 missions in the Gleam giveaway — such as wishlisting the game on Steam, joining Flyway Games' Discord and following the studio on X. All participants receive a playtest key; five lucky winners also receive a US$ 50 Steam gift card. Winners will be announced on November 25 at 17:00.
Two side events run alongside it. On Discord, anyone who posts a screenshot of the Shadow Castle chapter's final boss receives the limited “Dreadnaught” role, and five drawn participants win a full-game key. On X, the repost event runs from October 29 to November 4 at 11:59 (Pacific Time) and draws two US$ 20 Steam gift cards among those who repost Flyway Games' official post.
In Waltz and Jam, Waltz wakes with no memory in Downtown, a mysterious afterlife, and must collect seven stamps across seven worlds inspired by the Seven Deadly Sins to reach the Gate of Judgement. Jam, his spirit puppy, transforms into forms such as a Water Ball to cross gaps and a Trampoline to reach heights, while Waltz uses toys left by legendary craftsmen to open paths and face bosses.
The full game launches on December 3, 2026, for PC via Steam, PlayStation 5 and Nintendo Switch 2, and already has a free public demo on Steam. The public demo save can be carried over into the playtest, according to the event coverage.
