Ubisoft proposes closing Trials studio RedLynx and cuts 70 jobs in Singapore

Ubisoft informed its teams of a proposal to close the Finnish studio RedLynx, creator of the Trials series, and of impacting 70 positions at Ubisoft Singapore. Ubisoft RedLynx, acquired in 2011, is known for the motorcycle franchise.

What the company communicated

In a statement seen by specialized outlets, the publisher said: "Today, we informed our teams of a proposal to close RedLynx in Finland, subject to the local change negotiation process, which would affect up to 52 positions."

On Singapore: "At Ubisoft Singapore, 70 positions have been impacted to align the studio with upcoming production needs. The studio remains an important part of Ubisoft’s global production organization. We deeply value the contributions of both teams and recognize the impact this may have on our colleagues."

Studio context

RedLynx was acquired by Ubisoft in 2011 after the success of Trials HD and other titles. It released sequels in the franchise until Trials Rising in 2019 and later acted more as a support studio. In 2025 it already faced cuts and a shift toward small-screen games.

Ubisoft Singapore, founded in 2008, led development of Skull and Bones, which had a long and troubled process until its 2024 launch. The 70 roles represent roughly one-fifth of the studio’s current headcount.

These moves are part of Ubisoft’s ongoing restructuring, which includes prior studio closures and organization into Creative Houses.
