The Witcher 3 Remastered arrives on Tuesday, September 29, 2026, as a free update that replaces the Complete Edition on PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. CD Projekt RED confirmed the package size and the global unlock time.

What happened?

Marcin Momot, CD Projekt RED's global community director, said the The Witcher 3 Remastered download is about 45 GB on PC via Steam, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, and about 50 GB on Nintendo Switch 2, where it ships as a separate product. There is no preload.

In Brazil, The Witcher 3 Remastered unlocks at 7 AM BRT on the 29th. Saves and trophies carry over. Owners on PC, PS5 and Xbox get the remaster for free.

What changes

The Witcher 3 Remastered upgrades visuals, combat, traversal, signs, mounts, monster behavior, the skill tree, transmog, photo mode and finishers. Base-game owners also receive Hearts of Stone and Blood and Wine. A native Switch 2 version and a Battle.net release with Blizzard are part of the package.

Why it matters

The Witcher 3 Remastered sets the stage for the 2027 expansion Songs of the Past and the new region of Letten.
