Stellar Blade Complete Edition Drops Switch 2 Demo at TGS 2026

SHIFT UP released the demo for Stellar Blade Complete Edition on the Nintendo Switch 2 eShop this Sunday (20). The announcement coincides with the final in-person stage of Tokyo Game Show 2026, where the game was playable at SEGA's booth and CEO Kim Hyung-tae discussed the port.

What happened?

According to 4Gamer and outlets like RPG Site, the demo is already available on the console—though in some cases it appears directly on the device's eShop rather than the web store. The reported download size is around 6.1 GB.

The complete version launches on November 6, 2026, in Japan (November 5 in Western markets) for 7,980 yen. It is the most comprehensive package of the 2024 action game yet: including the original campaign, the NieR:Automata DLC, the Goddess of Victory: Nikke DLC, and the new free Bayonetta crossover featuring four outfits (including Bayonetta, Jeanne, and a nun suit).

What does this mean?

Stellar Blade debuted on PS5 before heading to PC. On Switch 2, SHIFT UP has promised to maintain close to 60 fps using upscaling and frame generation. According to the developer, the physical edition includes the entire game on the cartridge—no game-key cards.

At TGS, Kim Hyung-tae stated that the Complete Edition is not the end of the line for the franchise and that the team continues working on new content. The port also supports Joy-Con 2 motion controls for non-combat activities like fishing.

In practice

Switch 2 owners can now test EVE's combat pacing—parrying, dodging, and swordplay in post-apocalyptic settings—without waiting until November. Those who already played on PS5 or PC are using the demo primarily to test out the handheld port. Pre-ordering via the eShop unlocks extra cosmetics at launch.
