Kyoto Animation released on Thursday, October 1, 2026, the final trailer for Sound! Euphonium: The Final Movie Part 2. The film is already in Japanese theaters and follows the last stretch of the Kitauji band, with Kumiko Oumae at the center.
What happened?
The studio's official channel posted the so-called final trailer, looking back on 11 years of Sound! Euphonium. It highlights Kumiko, Reina Kousaka and rival Mayu Kuroe. Taichi Ogawa takes full directing duties, with Tatsuya Ishihara as chief director. Jukki Hanada remains series composer, Shoko Ikeda and Kazumi Ikeda handle character design, and Akito Matsuda writes the music with Senzoku Gakuen and Progressive! Wind Orchestra.
The film compiles season 3 with new animation and scenes. Part 2 opened in Japan on September 11. Annenberg Media reported an opening gross of $962,135 and a seventh-place national ranking. Both parts were selected for the Bucheon International Animation Festival in South Korea, screening October 24 and 25.
Why it matters
Sound! Euphonium began on TV in April 2015 and became a reference for concert-band anime. The two films close the national-competition arc. No official U.S. date has been announced. The TV seasons remain on Crunchyroll.
What changes in practice
Viewers in Japan can already see the ending in theaters. Elsewhere, the trailer is not a confirmed international window. Bucheon is the first announced Korean screening.
