RuneScape Reignited arrives December 2 with 10 days of free membership

Jagex has dated RuneScape Reignited: December 2, 2026. The announcement came at RuneFest 2026 and is on the game's official site. This is not the fourth MMO in Unreal Engine, already reported, but a relaunch of the current RuneScape.

Creative director Ryan Philpott described the update as a relaunch, according to a briefing cited by specialist press. The same package brings the Adventure Guide and a remaster of the early journey. Jagex says 2026 was used to remove criticized systems such as Dailyscape, auras and integrity-breaking microtransaction items, and to rework Dungeoneering, the avatar, Player-Owned Houses and the Grand Exchange.

What changes in December

For the first ten days after December 2, characters created in Reignited will have free access to members' worlds. Jagex also plans a Hall of Legends to record world firsts after launch, with statues of players who hit milestones such as max level in certain skills.

The 2027 roadmap lists three arcs: Hoard of Dragons, City of Gnomes and Secrets of Karamja. Separate roadmaps for Old School RuneScape and RuneScape: Dragonwilds were announced at the same event.

Anyone already following the fourth MMO can treat Reignited as the other half of RuneFest: a live game with a date, and a new project still without a launch window.
