Rascal Does Not Dream releases the first 4 minutes of Dear Friend, in theaters October 16

Rascal Does Not Dream of a Dear Friend now has its opening minutes in public. The team behind Seishun Buta Yarō wa Dear Friend no Yume o Minai posted the film's first four minutes and a visual called a finale on Sunday, October 4, 2026. The Japanese theatrical opening is set for October 16. The film is presented as the stretch that takes the story to its ending: it shares the title of the 15th and final volume of Hajime Kamoshida's series.

An advance screening was held the same Sunday at Shinjuku Wald 9 in Tokyo. Viewers in the first week of release receive a new text story by Kamoshida, Seishun Buta Yarō wa Tea Garden no Yume o Miru (Rascal Does Dream of a Tea Garden).
