PlayStation Plus for October 2026 now has an official list. Sony Interactive Entertainment announced the Essential monthly games on the PlayStation Blog. Subscribers can add the titles from Tuesday, October 6, and claims remain open until Monday, November 2.
What joins PlayStation Plus
There are three games, on different platforms:
- F1 25 (PS5): the official game of the 2025 Formula 1 championship. It includes Career and My Team 2.0, where the player acts as a team owner. In F1 World, friends can race as a squad against AI drivers.
- Hunt: Showdown 1896 (PS5): a horror extraction shooter. Players hunt bosses, contest the bounty with other hunters and must extract. Solo play or a team of up to two partners is supported.
- Earth Defense Force: World Brothers 2 (PS5 and PS4): a square Earth is under attack by giant enemies. Players build a four-soldier team, including main-series and spin-off characters, and fight voxel versions of classic enemies plus new creatures. Four-player online co-op and two-player local split-screen are supported.
Why it matters
PlayStation Plus Essential is the entry tier. The three games cover official racing, cooperative extraction and voxel-style co-op shooting. For current subscribers the extra cost is zero, as long as the claim happens inside the window. Sony warns the list can change by region. The safe path is to check the PlayStation Store on October 6.
October also stacks other releases. On PC and Xbox, the Gears of War: E-Day Premium Edition already opened early access, as Geekiki covered earlier.
September deadline and October extras
September games can still be claimed until October 5. The outgoing list is Sniper Elite: Resistance, MLB The Show 26, Wobbly Life and Chained Echoes.
Sony also listed HorrorFest packs for PlayStation Plus members. The Call of Duty: Warzone Horror Bundle is available on October 1. The Hunt: Showdown 1896 Starter Pack arrives on October 6. The Overwatch 2 Dragur Reinhardt pack with five tier skips launches on October 7. The base game must be owned to use those pack contents.
On the same October 6 date, Spider-Man: Brand New Day arrives on Sony Pictures Core. Limited-edition film avatars release the same day and members can claim them in-app at no extra cost. The avatar promotion runs until October 20, 2026, and the voucher code expires on October 6, 2027, according to the blog.
What to check
PlayStation Plus remains a recurring subscription until cancellation, and age restrictions apply. Official terms are at play.st/psplus-usageterms. That does not replace a regional store check.
