My Sweet Marriage to My Ex-Nemesis gets an anime at EMT Squared

My Sweet Marriage to My Ex-Nemesis is getting a TV anime. Toshimichi Uzō's light novel, illustrated by Kewi Hayashi, was confirmed on Saturday, October 3, 2026, at the Dengeki Bunko Fall Festival Online. The original title is Soshiki no Shukuteki to Kekkon Shitara Mecha Amai. A trailer, commemorative art and the first staff names were released. There is no premiere date.

Who is producing it

Atsushi Nigorikawa directs. His credits include Once Upon a Witch's Death and A Journey Through Another World: Raising Kids While Adventuring. Keiichirō Ōchi, of The Quintessential Quintuplets and The Angel Next Door Spoils Me Rotten, handles series composition. Yūki Nakano, of Kuma Kuma Kuma Bear, designs the characters.

Crunchyroll reports production of My Sweet Marriage to My Ex-Nemesis at EMT Squared, with assistance from Ankichi Kobo. Anime News Network describes Nigorikawa directing at Ankichi Kobo. Both accounts agree on the director and creative staff; the exact split between the studios still depends on the official notice. Kadokawa also showed character line art and an illustration by Kewi Hayashi.

The premise

Roshi Saigawa and Ritsuka Nagira were rivals in opposing organizations of superpowered fighters. The story starts after they are already married: the rivalry becomes domestic comedy, with old scores and secrets still in play. The first volume shipped in October 2023 from Dengeki Bunko. The fourth was published in August 2025, and the fifth is set for November 10. Shiime's manga began in November 2024 in Dengeki Maoh. One Peace Books licenses the manga in English, with volume 1 planned for March 16, 2027.

The project is separate from other announcements at the same festival already covered by Geekiki, such as Kochira, Shuumatsu Teitai Iinkai. Here there is already a director, series composition and character design, but the air window remains open.
