Metro Redux is getting a free next-gen update. Metro 2033 Redux and Metro Last Light Redux land on PC on October 22, 2026, and on PlayStation 5, PS5 Pro and Xbox Series X|S on October 29, according to Digital Foundry and Pure Xbox. It is not a remake: Deep Silver describes improvements for current hardware.

- 4K textures, more faithful animation, higher-quality audio and richer environments.
- Higher-quality lighting, shadows and particles, plus runtime tessellation and displacement.
- PSSR on PS5 Pro and TSR with anti-aliasing on Xbox Series X.
- Spatial audio on Xbox, DualSense adaptive triggers and Impulse Triggers on Xbox controllers.
- A power-saver mode on PlayStation and Power Optimized Mode on Xbox, with Xbox Handheld and Xbox Play Anywhere.
