Mera×Death is the new TV anime from the Monster Strike franchise. MIXI announced Mera×Death: Shinigami to Boku no Ijō na Koi (“The Unusual Love Between Me and the Grim Reaper”), premiering in Japan on January 5, 2027 on TOKYO MX and nine other terrestrial channels, plus streaming.
The official site and PV landed in late September. The story is set in Ouma, a town marked by an explosion six years ago — no deaths, a “miracle” — and by a sphere in the sky called the Glass Sun. Introverted teen Mera Kagari lives at a diner on Tomisaka shopping street, turns 16 and meets Thirteen, a mysterious girl who likes spicy food. His routine gains color; the town starts showing anomalies.
