The manga Hoshin Engi marks 30 years since serialization and is getting its first major original-art exhibition. Shueisha confirmed the Hoshin Engi Exhibition for spring 2027 in Tokyo and started giving away all 204 chapters on official apps from September 26, 2026.
What happened?
The official exhibition site and outlets such as Famitsu and Mantan Web outlined the plan: handwritten manuscripts from the Weekly Shonen Jump run, installations, photo spots and new merch. The exact date and venue have not been announced.
Shueisha opened sequential free reading on Shonen Jump+, Zebrack and Young Jump+. The first block (chapters 1–35) runs from September 26 to October 16, 2026. Later blocks continue through April 23, 2027.
Why it matters
Hoshin Engi debuted in 1996 and mixed the classic Chinese novel Fengshen Yanyi with Fujisaki's flamboyant art. It received two anime adaptations. A popularity poll of 145 characters runs through October 25.
What changes in practice
Readers can start today for free on the three Shueisha apps if they follow the block calendar. The official trailer passed 97,000 views in just over a day.
