Heartworm, the retro survival horror by Vincent Adinolfi and DreadXP, leaves PC exclusivity and arrives on October 1, 2026 for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2. It launched on Steam on July 31, 2025.
What happened?
Gematsu and Dread Central confirmed the date with a console announcement trailer. Heartworm mixes fixed cameras with over-the-shoulder aiming. You play as Sam, who follows an online forum to a mountain house that supposedly lets her reach the other side after her grandfather's death.
The campaign lasts about four to six hours, with multiple endings, classic puzzles and limited combat using a camera as a weapon. Optional tank controls and pixel filters are available.
Why it matters
The game became a cult PC title for echoing Silent Hill and Resident Evil without AAA scale. The Switch 2 and current-gen ports widen the audience for Halloween season.
What changes in practice
Couch players no longer need a Steam Deck. PC pricing sits around $15; console prices were not detailed in the reports cited.
