Fortnite Five Nights at Freddy's is official: Epic Games confirmed the collaboration for the Halloween event Fortnitemares 2026. The announcement dropped on the official Fortnite YouTube channel on Sunday, September 27, with the trailer “Five Nighs At Freddy’s Joins Fortnitemares 2026.”

The official video description says the Fazbear Band has taken over Battle Royale. Players will face animatronic animal bosses and try to survive the night. Epic states that Fortnitemares begins on October 1. Japanese coverage citing the official post reports Freddy Fazbear's Pizza and animatronics such as Freddy, Chica and Bonnie in the trailer and on the island.
The Fortnite Five Nights at Freddy's trailer shows the pizzeria interior and pickaxes tied to the series. There is still no official full list of skins, quests or Battle Pass duration.
Why it matters
FNAF, launched in 2014 by Scott Cawthon / ScottGames, has been one of the Fortnite community's longest-running crossover requests. Previous Fortnitemares events already brought other horror franchises; the official confirmation closes weeks of leaks and datamines.
