Serenity Forge, the studio behind To the Moon and LISA, revealed Faraday Blues on Thursday (17) during the Xbox digital broadcast at Tokyo Game Show 2026. The game is a hybrid of visual novel and card strategy, set to launch in 2027 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and PC (Steam and Microsoft Store).

What happened?
At the Xbox TGS showcase, Serenity Forge debuted the announcement trailer and premise: you control a daughter searching for her parents—who do not know she exists. The story spans across three eras, each featuring its own distinct visual style, where players use character cards to rewrite tragic choices.
According to the official press release and the Steam page, Faraday Blues promises 64 reality-altering endings and a hidden fourth timeline. The project is led by director Zhenghua Yang (Z) and Satchely, character artist for Doki Doki Literature Club!. The voice cast features Nichole Goodnight, the voice of the Princess in Slay the Princess, with a soundtrack by Kris Wilson from Cyanide & Happiness.
How the deck works
This isn't a card game about summoning creatures or dealing damage. The cards represent people, memories, and objects from the Faraday family. You explore the family apartment, collect these cards, and place them onto a board to reset time and relive scenes from different perspectives.
There is an Entropy versus Order axis: by pushing characters toward one side or the other, their suit changes and their behavior in subsequent timelines becomes less predictable. Recovered memories can be attached to cards to alter future decisions, subject to usage restrictions between minor interactions and major events.
What does this mean?
Visual novels with multiple endings are nothing new. What Faraday Blues attempts is to turn narrative branching into a board game system. Instead of simply picking a dialogue line, you position who enters the conversation, in which era, and with what moral stance. The promise is that an early choice will completely reshape the board in the 205X and 20XX eras.
The creative lineup helps set the tone. Satchely is renowned for her work on Doki Doki; Nichole Goodnight brings experience from a narrative horror game that plays with the protagonist's voice. It might not be the biggest blockbuster of TGS, but it is the kind of announcement that easily stands out from the weekly trailer avalanche. Gematsu confirmed the platforms and the 2027 release window.
What it doesn't mean yet
There is no exact release date within 2027, pricing, complete age rating, or Game Pass confirmation yet. Steam lists full controller support along with text options in English, Japanese, and Simplified Chinese. The page's mature content warning mentions textual descriptions of a child's death, firearms, physical violence, and poisoning—proving that Faraday Blues tackles heavy themes despite its narrative focus.
