DoDonPachi Resurrection Reignite, CAVE's modern relaunch of its danmaku shooter series, received version 1.1.0 on Friday, October 2, 2026, with the training mode players had asked for. The official note went out at 3:30 p.m. Japan time via PR Times.
What happened?
CAVE Interactive, based in Meguro, Tokyo, and led by Yuki Takahashi, confirmed that version 1.1.0 of Shin'yaku Dodonpachi DaiFukkatsu (English name: DoDonPachi Resurrection Reignite) is live on Steam. Training lets players practice and build routes at their own pace. It covers every stage, including the new AREA6, so a section can be isolated instead of restarting the whole run.
The patch also raises the number of coins earned in Grade Match. DoDonPachi Resurrection Reignite, released on August 27, 2026 (10:00 a.m. Japan time), already included Royale for up to 10 players at once, the first multiplayer of that format in the series.
Why it matters
DoDonPachi is the series CAVE has kept since 1997, and it helped define danmaku: the screen fills with bullets and the skill is in dodging, not only shooting. The company cites 24 series titles across arcade, consoles and mobile. Without training, learning a pattern meant repeating a stage from the start. Version 1.1.0 of DoDonPachi Resurrection Reignite cuts that friction without changing arcade difficulty.
The next calendar is already announced. In November 2026, AREA6 joins Royale, the 10-player battle. In the same cycle, CAVE plans to expand where coins are earned and adjust matchmaking wait times. In winter, Black Label arrives, the arcade revision of Dodonpachi DaiFukkatsu, now with AREA6, a new track for that stage and an assist mode. Character art remains by Takeshi Ogata, the same designer as the 2008 release.
What changes in practice
Anyone who already owns DoDonPachi Resurrection Reignite on Steam gets training for free. Anyone who has not bought it yet can find it in the Steam Autumn Sale at 10% off until October 9, 2026, at 2:00 a.m. Japan time (October 8, 10:00 a.m. Pacific). The price drops from 3,150 yen to 2,835 yen, and from US$24.99 to US$22.49.
