Demon's Crest (Devils' Crest in English materials), the anime of Reki Kawahara's light novel, received battle key art and four in-game character visuals on October 3. The premiere is still set for November 6, 2026, as a worldwide Prime Video exclusive.
The official Japanese account posted the key art with the line “This is a game—and it is real.” The new images show Yuma Ashihara, Sawa Ashihara, Minagi Sano and Kenji Kondo in combat outfits. The official site logged the battle key art and in-game costume visuals the same day.
What the story is
In Yen Press's synopsis, sixth-grade twins Yuma and Sawa are testing Actual Magic, a brand-new VR MMORPG, when the game starts fusing with the real world. It is the death-game and VR territory Kawahara, author of Sword Art Online, returns to, now produced at Production I.G.
Kenichiro Komaya directs, with series direction by Shinji Ushiro, according to Crunchyroll. Series composition is by Eiji Umehara and character design by Yukiko Horiguchi. On October 2 the project had already shown a second PV, with the ending “ReaL” by Soala, and new cast names. The October 3 visual is the next step, not a premiere announcement.
What has not changed
This material does not change the date, the studio or the window. What is new is the combat framing: the anime moves beyond cast teasers and shows the group in action inside the game that invades reality. The early screening of the first two episodes, announced earlier, remains separate from the Prime Video debut.
