Castlevania: Belmont's Curse demo is free and carries progress into the full game

The free demo of Castlevania: Belmont's Curse is live. Konami released the opening chapter on PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, Xbox Series X|S and Steam, with progress that can transfer to the full game.

The official page describes a demo of the opening chapter. The save only carries over if the demo and the full game are on the same platform, on the same account, and if the demo file is kept. Some features are restricted in the demo. The full version must be updated when the transfer happens.

What you can play

Konami lists 60 fps on PS5, Xbox Series and Steam. On Nintendo Switch, the official target is 30 fps. Minimum install size runs from 3 GB on Switch to 6 GB on PS5. Languages include Brazilian Portuguese, English, Japanese, French, German, Spanish, Italian, Russian, Traditional and Simplified Chinese, and Korean.

Nintendo Life reported that, on Switch 2, the Switch version appeared to run near 60 fps in the outlet's test. That is not on Konami's official spec sheet, which still lists 30 fps for Switch. There is no dedicated Switch 2 edition on that page.

Why it matters

The full game arrives on October 15, 2026. It is a 2D Castlevania from Motion Twin and Evil Empire, the Dead Cells studios, after the Return to Castlevania DLC. The demo works as a combat and exploration test two weeks before launch, without forcing players to start over.

Pre-order or early purchase of any edition also grants an extra Alucard-style costume for Rose Belmont, according to Konami material reported by RPG Site.
