Death Momotaro is live on Steam. Hirasaka’s solo horror-action comedy rewrites the Momotarō folktale: you flee Death Grandpa’s kitchen knife, fight Death Dog, Monkey and Pheasant, then open fire on the oni of Onigashima.
What happened?
Steam app 5119790 launched around September 24–25, 2026, with Japanese, English and Simplified Chinese, four chapters and about one hour of play. Full price is roughly $4, with 10% off through early October. Famitsu covered the release.
Why it matters
It is the kind of short, streamer-friendly Japanese indie Steam still produces. The joke is the inversion of the fairy tale. Ten achievements; Let’s Plays are welcome.
