The official channel for Code Geass Star Chaser Aspal posted the first teaser on Friday, September 25, 2026, and confirmed a 2027 premiere. Sunrise is making an original story for the franchise’s 20th anniversary.
What happened?
The roughly 33-second video went live on YouTube and at geass.jp/aspal. Production was announced in December 2025; the new piece is the 2027 window plus the first moving footage of Code Geass Star Chaser Aspal.
Kazuya Nomura directs. Mado Nozaki handles series composition, Rolua designs characters and Yoshi. designs the Agarmatha. Junbun Lin leads backgrounds and effects. Sunrise is credited for original work, planning and animation.
Why it matters
This is not a direct sequel to Lelouch of the Rebellion or Rozé of the Recapture. Sunrise is pitching a new series about Geass, Knightmare Frames and imperial politics.
Nomura directed Moriarty the Patriot and Robotics;Notes. Nozaki wrote KADO: The Right Answer. The staff list points to a serious mecha-and-politics tone.
What changes in practice
Cast, episode count and international platforms are still unannounced. The teaser puts 2027 on the calendar and points to @GEASS_Aspal.
The 20th-anniversary slate still includes the Gundam Wing crossover manga, a Lelouch musical and exhibitions in Tokyo and Osaka. Catch-up viewing can start with Rozé of the Recapture.
