Cattle Country Bandits & Bounties adds bounty hunting

The Cattle Country Bandits & Bounties update is available now. Playtonic Friends and Castle Pixel added bounty hunting, bandit camps, and random store robberies to the cowboy life sim, along with new crafting gear, more inventory space, outfits, and a fishing spot.

The game remains on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam. The announcement, published by Gematsu on October 5, frames the update as a way to bring the more dangerous side of frontier life into the player’s routine without turning the game into a shooter.

Wanted posters, camps, and robberies

Wanted posters are at the sheriff’s building. The player picks up a bounty, tracks the outlaw in the wilderness, takes the target down, and returns to Sheriff Tom for the reward. Bandit camps can appear on the overworld while the player explores, with a chance to clear the site and collect what the outlaws left behind.

Closer to town, random robberies and shootouts can start at the general store, butcher, carpenter, and bank. Anyone nearby is pulled into the encounter. The official text does not give a spawn rate or a list of cash rewards.

Toolbelt, bag, and tailoring

The homestead side grows as well. The Toolbelt lets players craft away from the workbench. The Extra Large Bag opens inventory to four rows, and item counts now display past 9,999. Animal Trap, Rock Tumbler, and Tailoring Table arrive as equipment: the trap gathers animal resources, the tumbler breaks rocks with a chance of a rare gem, and the tailoring table is for making clothes and hats.

There are new outfits, hats, and head accessories, plus red hair in character creation. On Tuesdays and Saturdays, a boat at the docks leads to a fishing spot where fish from every season can appear. An active fishing buff is, according to the announcement, more forgiving. The package also adds extra NPC dialogue, fixes, and a visual detail: birds sitting in trees now sway with the branches.
