Bandai Namco Filmworks released a teaser on Saturday, October 3, 2026, for the TV anime of Because I, the True Saint, Was Banished, that Country is Done For! (Shin no Seijo de Aru Watashi wa Tsuihō Saremashita. Dakara Kono Kuni wa Mō Owari Desu). The Because I, the True Saint, Was Banished video sets the TV debut for January 2027 and names Kanako Hara, composer of Blue Orchestra 2, for the score.
The light novel is by Shikiso Utsuzawa. In the teaser, Masumi Tazawa plays Eliane and Taku Yashiro plays Nigel. Tsukasa Sakurai directs; his credits include The Disastrous Life of Saiki K., Golden Time and an episode of Little Witch Academia. Production is at Tsumugi Akita Anime Lab. Naoki Tozuka handles series composition and Naru Nishikōri character design; both worked on the two seasons of I Was Reincarnated as the 7th Prince.
What the story sets up
The synopsis used by AnimeTV, drawn from Comic Natalie, describes Eliane as the saint whose engagement is broken by crown prince Claude, who then banishes her. Tired of the bullying and the infidelity, she leaves for a neighboring kingdom and meets Nigel, presented as Claude's opposite. Kodansha USA has published Mokuba Matsu's manga adaptation in English on K MANGA since 2024.
The Because I, the True Saint, Was Banished announcement does not give an exact date inside January, or confirm a simulcast outside Japan. The new information is the teaser: a premiere window and a composer, not an immediate launch.
