BeamNG.drive now has a PlayStation 5 date: October 19, 2026, in Early Access. BeamNG's announcement on Thursday, September 24, says the port ships in the same cycle as PC version 0.40. The sim first entered Steam Early Access in 2015.
What happened?
After revealing the PS5 version in May, the German studio locked the calendar. Launch includes a new vehicle, local split-screen, FSR 3 on base PS5 and PSSR on PS5 Pro. The PlayStation Store listing mentions 1–4 players.
What will not ship day one: mods and VR. BeamNG wants long-term feature parity but will not confirm timing. Authoring tools such as the World Editor are not planned for PlayStation yet. Price is still unannounced.
Why it matters
BeamNG.drive is the soft-body driving sim in which every car part is a network of nodes and beams that flex, deform and break. On PC, mods keep the game alive. Bringing that engine to PS5 while still in Early Access is unusual on console.
