Ascendance of a Bookworm (Honzuki no Gekokujō) is getting a sequel: the team announced on October 3, 2026 that Part 4 of Miya Kazuki's novels will get a television anime. The arc being adapted is Founder of the Royal Academy's So-Called Library Committee (Kizoku-in no Jishō Tosho Iin), and WIT Studio is producing it again. No premiere date was given.
The announcement followed the end of Part 3, Adopted Daughter of an Archduke, which premiered on April 4 on Yomiuri TV and NTV and finished on Saturday after two cours. Crunchyroll streams the seasons already aired with English subtitles and an English dub. To mark the sequel, the official account posted an ending-card illustration by You Shiina, the novels' original illustrator.
What has not been confirmed
The notice does not name a new cast or staff for Part 4. On Part 3, Yoshiaki Iwasaki directed at WIT Studio, Mariko Kunisawa handled series composition, Aiko Minowa designed the characters and Michiru composed the music. Yuka Iguchi and Show Hayami continued as Rozemyne and Ferdinand. None of that was renewed or changed in Saturday's announcement.
In the novels published in English by J-Novel Club, Part 4 opens with Rozemyne waking from a two-year sleep into a world that is no longer the one she remembers. The first anime season premiered in October 2019, with 14 episodes.
