Arknights: Endfield gets Sanctuary of Ink and arrives on Steam on October 15

Arknights: Endfield gets the Sanctuary of Ink update on October 15, the same day the free 3D RPG launches on Steam. GRYPHLINE and developer Mountain Contour confirmed the chapter, two new Operators, and cross-platform progress for players already on Talos-II.

What the chapter covers

The new story takes the Endministrator inside Si’s painting. Si, a Feranmut Proxy, welcomes the injured protagonist to Yuanyuan Manor Inn, a home built inside a landscape she painted. Strange phenomena in the mountains pull both into a chapter tied to an event from a decade earlier.

Si’s Miracle Brush becomes an exploration tool: a stroke across a gap raises a bridge. Creatures formed from objects in the painting inhabit the world, and not all of them welcome visitors. Narrative designer AJ said the brush does more than open a path and quietly changes the daily lives of the creatures on the scroll.

Two Operators and a challenge contract

Si joins combat as a playable Operator. She draws an Inksoul from an enemy and transfers damage and effects back to the original target, even when it moves out of reach. Her kit also strengthens Cryo and Heat teammates. Argent Flow, an old acquaintance of the Endministrator, mixes sword and spear work with mounted charges on his warhorse Nuli. Both Operators arrive through successive recruitment events.

Contingency Contract returns as Indigo Experimental Operation, with modifiers that pair advantages and restrictions. One example cited by GRYPHLINE boosts combo-skill damage but blocks further combo skills after two casts. For the first time, selected modifiers also give enemies extra attack patterns.

Inn, soundtrack, and quality of life

Between missions, Yuanyuan’s Blazing Stoves turns the inn into a side activity: grow crops, raise animals, cook for guests, and spend the earnings on expansion. An Auto-Farmer helps with sowing and harvesting, and access later extends to Wuling’s farming area.

The soundtrack mixes color bass, afrobeat, and UK garage. Named contributors include Black Myth: Wukong composer Zhai Jinyan, Death Stranding composer Ludvig Forssell, Chinese electronic band 8:48, and Crywolf. The patch also adds saved equipment loadouts, more precise mouse targeting, adjustable priority for simultaneous combo skills, and the ability to place structures straight from the depot.

Arknights: Endfield is already available on PS5, the official launcher, the Epic Games Store, the App Store, and Google Play. The Steam page is app 4732690. The announcement was detailed by Gematsu, based on GRYPHLINE’s release.
