Apple HomeView: 7-inch smart display with Siri AI and face recognition arrives in November

Apple unveiled on Tuesday, October 13, 2026, the Apple HomeView, a 7-inch smart display designed to be the center of the connected home. With a Liquid Retina screen, A18 chip, Siri AI, and face recognition, the device arrives November 13 for $299.

What happened?

During the “Welcome Home” event, Apple revealed the HomeView (and wall-mounted version), HomePod mini 2, and the new fourth-generation Apple TV 4K. HomeView features a square 7-inch screen (1088x1088 resolution at 220 ppi), 12MP Center Stage camera, built-in speaker, and Siri AI from launch.

It recognizes up to six faces in the household, personalizing the interface for each user with access to Messages, FaceTime, Calendar, Reminders, and Find My. It also acts as a HomeKit hub, controls the new Apple Home Collection line (cameras, thermostats, and locks made with LG and Schneider Electric), and delivers high-quality audio.

Why does it matter?

HomeView is Apple’s answer to Amazon and Google smart displays. It integrates Apple Intelligence and Siri AI natively, with on-device or Private Cloud Compute processing to preserve privacy. The company also updated HomePod mini (now with S10 chip, Sound Glow, and Siri AI in a future update) and Apple TV 4K (with A19 chip, far-field mics, and support for up to four HomePods for surround sound).

Official details are in the Apple press release. HomeView will not be sold in the European Union for now, as Siri AI is not yet available on iOS in the region.

What changes in practice?

Users can pre-order HomeView today, with availability starting November 13. HomePod mini 2 ($149) arrives earlier, on October 30. Apple Home Collection begins shipping in December. For those who already own an Apple TV 4K from 2021 onward, Siri AI arrives via free software update.

The lineup forms a more cohesive smart home ecosystem focused on privacy and deep iPhone integration. It is Apple’s biggest advance in the segment since the original HomePod launch.
