The official 30th-anniversary site for After War Gundam X published its key visual on September 25, 2026, Japan’s harvest-moon day. The moon is a core motif of the 1996 series.
What happened
The new art is by character designer Nobuyoshi Nishimura and mechanical designer Junya Ishigaki. It features Garrod Ran, Tiffa Adill and Gundam DX. The series ran 39 episodes from April to December 1996 and was the third non-Universal Century Gundam TV show after G Gundam and Gundam Wing.
Bandai Namco Filmworks Selection Vol. 1 began screening episodes 1, 14, 29 and 39 at five Japanese theaters on September 25. A special event is set for September 27 at TOHO Cinemas Ikebukuro in Tokyo, with a talk by director Shinji Takamatsu, designer Junya Ishigaki and Garrod voice actor Wataru Takagi as MC.
Why it matters
Gundam X never matched Wing commercially, but fans stayed for the postwar setting, Newtypes and the DX. The visual and staff screening mark the 30-year cycle that already includes a multilingual official site and a Gundam Channel program.
