Yumeneconnect Anime: Kou Sawada's Manga Gets TV Adaptation Starring Yūsuke Kobayashi

Shochiku announced on Wednesday, October 14, 2026, the television Yumeneconnect anime adaptation of Kou Sawada's manga. The announcement includes the main cast, staff, and teaser visual.

What happened?

The Yumeneconnect anime will be directed by Sōta Yokote (known for To Your Eternity season 3) at Studio Massket. Gigaemon Echikawa will handle series composition and scripts, Yoshihiro Watanabe character designs, and Hayato Matsumura the music, with music production by Lantis.

In the cast, Yūsuke Kobayashi voices Yūhi Takamiya and Yū Sasahara plays Nano. Kobayashi is famous for roles such as Subaru in Re:Zero.

About the story

The manga follows Yūhi Takamiya, a sickly boy who has been absent from school since his first day of high school. In his loneliness, he cries out “I want friends!” and, in response, Nano appears — an alien from the planet Pokotsun. She aggressively sells ridiculous products, including forms of life designated as the most dangerous in the galaxy, promising to make his life a little more stimulating.

Sawada began serializing the work in Kodansha's Weekly Shōnen Magazine in September 2024. The 10th compiled volume arrives on Friday.

Why it matters

Adaptations of recent sci-fi romance comedy mangas often attract young audiences and strengthen the presence of smaller studios like Massket on the anime calendar. The strong cast and Yokote's direction raise expectations for the Yumeneconnect anime.
