Xbox has opened Mythic Achievements to Insiders, the long-requested status often compared with PlayStation Platinum trophies. The feature was detailed on Xbox Wire on September 29, 2026.
How Mythic status works
You earn Mythic by completing every original achievement in a game. Achievements added later through DLC or updates are tagged as add-ons and are not required. Once earned, the status stays even if the list grows.
Retroactive, including Xbox 360
Microsoft already applied Mythic to eligible games players finished in the past, including Xbox 360 titles. Opening a profile may reveal older games already marked.
Gaming tab and progress bar
Profiles gain a Gaming tab for achievements, Gamerscore milestone badges and framed Mythics. Friends' tabs are visible too. Each game list now has a progress bar toward Mythic and a filter for remaining original achievements.
How to try it
The feature is in the Insider program via Xbox Insider Hub on console or PC. Xbox has not announced a general rollout date.
