X Subscription unifies Grok, Cursor and X Premium in plans starting at $8

SpaceX Super Intelligence (SpaceXSI) announced on Monday, October 12, 2026, The X Subscription, a unified plan that combines the Grok AI model, Cursor coding agents and X Premium features.

The initiative, officially announced on X by @SpaceXSI and detailed at x.ai/news/x-subscription, creates five plan tiers: Free ($0), Plus ($8/month), Premium ($30/month), Super ($100/month) and Ultra ($200/month). Annual plans offer equivalent discounts.

What changes in practice

Paid plans include a shared weekly pool of Grok model usage that can be consumed in the Grok app, the Grok tab on X or in Cursor. According to the company, each plan offers at least twice the coding usage with its own models compared to comparable previous Cursor plans.

Grok Bot, AI agents for tasks, is available from the Premium plan. Third-party models in Cursor (such as Claude or GPT) remain accessible from Premium onward, but are billed separately at API prices, without inclusion in the pool.

Current SuperGrok, Cursor or X Premium users can keep their plans or migrate, with proportional refunds. The company states that availability is being rolled out gradually.

Why it matters

The unification reflects the growing integration between chatbot, coding tool and social network under the same corporate umbrella (SpaceX/xAI). For developers and AI users, it simplifies the subscription, but concentrates consumption under a single usage limit and changes the economics for those who relied on included third-party models.
