World of Dokkaebi launches on October 8, 2026, at 11 a.m. Korea Standard Time. In Brazil, that World of Dokkaebi slot is 11 p.m. on October 7. Kakao Games publishes the 2.5D mobile MMORPG developed by Supercat, with pixel-art characters on 3D environments.
World of Dokkaebi is based on the Naver web novel and webtoon Myeonggwisudojeon, roughly The Tale of Cultivation and Demon Extermination. The game is set about 300 years before the original story, in an era when humans and dokkaebi, the goblins of Korean folklore, had not yet built mutual trust.
What happened?
According to Inven Global, using material provided by Kakao Games, the publisher confirms the World of Dokkaebi launch at 11 a.m. on October 8. Character-name reservations, opened on September 22, sold out in about an hour. The second round, the next day, filled in roughly five hours, and Kakao Games added three extra servers for World of Dokkaebi.
World of Dokkaebi does not lock a class at character creation. Players combine 12 skill styles, split into four groups: frontline firepower, distance and flow, variables and control, and allies and frontline. Equipping three skills of the same style triggers Shinshik Release, which changes effects and exclusive mechanics.
Why it matters
The World of Dokkaebi look leans on recognizable Korean scenery: tile-roofed houses, jangseung wooden totems, and bamboo groves. Kakao Games also said, in a pre-launch demonstration, that outfits and mounts will not carry progression stats. Membership length was extended from 28 to 30 days.
The other World of Dokkaebi hook is Myorong, an in-house chatbot. It reads activity logs and growth data to point out missing progression and the next step, and it shows hunting history, currency in and out, and guild participation. It is a guidance tool, not a game generator.
