The animated film Witch on the Holy Night (Mahoutsukai no Yoru), TYPE-MOON’s visual novel adapted by ufotable, released its 90-second final trailer on Wednesday, plus a supercell theme song and a new character visual by Hirokazu Koyama.
What the Witch on the Holy Night trailer shows
The clip shows daily life for Aoko Aozaki, Alice Kuonji and Soujuurou Shizuki in Misaki, along with fight scenes. The theme is “Yoru to Ao” (Night and Blue), written, composed and arranged by ryo with vocals by Nagi Yanagi.
According to MANTANWEB and Anime Corner, Witch on the Holy Night opens in Japan on November 20, 2026 in 347 theaters, the project’s widest release so far. International rollout starts in January 2027; Crunchyroll and Sony Pictures Entertainment dated the United States and Canada for January 29, 2027, with English subs and dub. Crunchyroll lists January 26, 2027 for Germany, Austria and German-speaking Switzerland.

Why Witch on the Holy Night matters
Kinoko Nasu wrote the 2012 visual novel in the same lineage as Fate and Tsukihime. Seeing ufotable — the studio behind Demon Slayer and Fate/Zero — take it to a national theatrical run and more than 45 countries is the title’s biggest commercial push since the PS4, Switch and Steam ports.
