Bulkhead Interactive's tactical FPS WARDOGS has passed 3 million copies sold a little over two weeks after entering Steam Early Access. The studio confirmed the milestone on September 26, 2026 and said work is now focused on Season 2, due October 15.
What happened
The game launched in Early Access on September 10. It reached 2 million copies in five days. The new Steam news post and the official @WARDOGS account confirm 3 million sales and a nomination for Best Early Access Game 2026 at the Golden Joystick Awards. Community voting is open on the awards site.
Bulkhead called the result rewarding while noting that “this hype won’t last forever.” More content details are promised the following week.
How it plays
About 100 players split across three PMCs fight over territory. There are no fixed classes: weapons, vehicles and roles unlock by doing the job in the field — recon, flying, base building and more. Cash carries between matches and buys higher-tier gear.
Why it matters
Three million copies in two weeks put WARDOGS among 2026's fastest Early Access launches. Season 2 on October 15 is the first real retention test after the opening spike. Bulkhead has also said the long-term target remains a 1.0 launch that includes consoles.
