Ubisoft shuts down Rainbow Six Mobile on January 15, 2027

Ubisoft has announced the shutdown of Rainbow Six Mobile, the free-to-play tactical shooter that launched globally in February 2026. The game will remain available until January 15, 2027.

What happened?

On October 8, 2026, the development team published an official message announcing the decision to sunset the title. Since the soft launch in 2023, the game went through 15 seasons and built a global community. The worldwide launch took place on February 23, 2026, after years of testing and development involving 11 Ubisoft studios and Tencent.

The next season will still be released as planned. Details on the transition will be shared in the coming weeks.

Why is this important?

Rainbow Six Mobile tried to bring the Rainbow Six Siege experience to mobile, with operators, iconic maps, and 5v5 modes. Despite significant downloads and collaborations such as with PAYDAY, the project did not sustain itself in the competitive mobile shooter market. The team will move on to other long-term strategic projects.

What changes in practice?

Players can continue accessing the game normally until January 15, 2027. After that date, servers will be shut down and the title can no longer be played or downloaded. The main Rainbow Six Siege continues active on PC and consoles.
