Creative Assembly has released patch 9.0.3 for Total War Warhammer 3 Nagash and the Undead Legions, focused on improving the progression of the Great Necromancer's campaign and bringing balance adjustments to units, spells and factions.
What changed in the Nagash campaign?
The developers admitted that the Nagash campaign was not hitting the right balance between challenge and enjoyment. Fixed points include the economy, Sigil progression, Necropolises and Mortarch subjugation.
Now, Black Pyramid progression offers more meaningful goals, including a 40% upkeep reduction for Nagash early on. There is also additional battle income based on difficulty (up to 20% on easy) and improvements to Necropolises such as stronger garrisons, combat bonuses under siege and reduced recruitment costs.
Mortarch subjugation objectives have been relaxed, with fewer location-specific requirements and more thematic objectives. Most Mortarchs now automatically submit when Nagash clearly surpasses them in power. These changes require a fresh campaign to activate.
General balancing in Total War Warhammer 3
The Lore of Nehekhara received an overhaul for Tomb Kings and Undead Legions, with adjustments to duration, damage, radius and effects of several incantations. Other changes include nerfs to missile resistance of Verminlords and Skreech Verminking (from +60% to +30%), buffs to Empire units like Teutogen Guard, and adjustments for Skaven, Chaos Dwarfs and other factions.
Patch 9.0.3 for Total War Warhammer 3 is available now. Creative Assembly indicated that more improvements are planned and invites the community to report bugs and feedback on the official forum.
