The Last of Us Season 3 has three new cast members: John Goodman, Laura Bailey and Ian Alexander. HBO announced the trio on Saturday, September 26 — the date the cordyceps outbreak begins in both the games and the series.
Who joins and in which role
Goodman plays Joey. Alexander plays Paco. They form a friendly duo who call themselves “Heroes of the Highway.” The characters are original TV creations and do not appear in The Last of Us Part I or Part II.
Laura Bailey plays Elizabeth, one of the leaders of the Seraphites, the religious group at war with the Washington Liberation Front. Bailey voiced Abby in The Last of Us Part II; on the show, Abby remains Kaitlyn Dever.
Ian Alexander played Lev in the same game. In Season 3, Lev is played by Kyriana Kratter. Ashley Johnson and Troy Baker had already returned to the franchise in different TV roles.
What was already confirmed
Bella Ramsey, Kaitlyn Dever, Isabela Merced, Gabriel Luna and Jeffrey Wright return. Ariela Barer, Tati Gabrielle and Spencer Lord become series regulars. Earlier additions include Clea DuVall, Patrick Wilson, Jason Ritter, Jorge Lendeborg Jr. and Michelle Mao.
Why it matters
