HBO confirmed on September 26, 2026 three new names for The Last of Us Season 3: John Goodman plus game stars Laura Bailey and Ian Alexander. The announcement landed on the in-universe date of the cordyceps outbreak.
Who plays whom
Goodman plays Joey, one half of an original TV duo nicknamed the Heroes of the Highway. Ian Alexander, who voiced Lev in The Last of Us Part II, plays Paco. Neither character appears in the games.
Laura Bailey, Abby’s voice in the second game, plays Elizabeth, a Seraphite leader. Abby and Lev in the live-action series remain Kaitlyn Dever and Kyriana Kratter.
Why it matters
Season 3 adapts much of The Last of Us Part II and is widely described as a possible final season. Casting Bailey and Alexander in new roles keeps the game talent in the HBO universe without recasting existing live-action parts.
