What the Star Fox Switch 2 update includes
Announced in the September 9 Nintendo Direct. The official eShop page says Battle Mode on Star Fox Switch 2 will support up to four players on one system in split-screen.
New maps: Katina (laser platform), Sector X (asteroids and energy waves), Venom (data modules and escape surge).
Up to four players on the same system can join online battles together. Internet is required to download the Star Fox Switch 2 patch.
Why it matters
Star Fox Switch 2 retells Star Fox 64 with new voices, orchestral score and rebuilt visuals. Local competitive multiplayer — an N64 hallmark — only arrives now, free for owners.
