SEGA has officially announced Year 2 of Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds, which begins on November 3, 2026. The crossover racing game receives a new mode, free characters and a series of paid content packs with major collaborations.
What's coming in Year 2?
Among the free additions is Duel Mode, a 1v1 mode focused on item tactics and the new Duel Boost. There are also improvements to the gadget system, including the Grand Master Plate, and characters released after the original launch will now appear as CPU opponents.
The first free characters include Bayonetta, available on November 3 via Rival Duel, plus a McLaren-inspired machine later in the month and Aigis from Persona 3 in early 2027.
Paid packs
Season Pass 2, already available for $29.99, includes six packs. The first is the Godzilla Pack on November 3, with the Godzilla Escape course and machines like Godzilla Cruiser and Mothra Surf. In January 2027 comes the EVANGELION Pack, with the Tokyo-III course, Rei Ayanami, Asuka and EVA units.
Other packs include collaborations with Final Fantasy VII, Persona and Hello Kitty, according to reports. There are also bonus contents such as SEGA controller decals and machines inspired by classic consoles.
The standard edition of the game has had its price permanently reduced to $39.99. Year 2 was detailed in an official showcase and reported by outlets such as Gematsu.
