Silent Hill: Konami plans second and third waves of new games

Silent Hill gets continuity: producer Motoi Okamoto revealed that Konami is already planning the second and third waves of new games in the psychological horror franchise after the success of the first wave.

What happened?

In an interview with Famitsu, Okamoto stated that the three initially announced Silent Hill titles were successfully released and received praise. "Successfully launching this 'first wave' comes with great relief, but we're not stopping here; we must think of the second and third waves. We can't share specific details, but we're currently looking at a number of projects," he said.

The first Silent Hill wave includes the Silent Hill 2 remake, Silent Hill f and Silent Hill: Townfall. Okamoto also mentioned the effort to convince Konami executives that one remake was not enough, avoiding the impression of franchise cancellation.

Why it matters for Silent Hill fans?

After the hiatus, Silent Hill has reestablished itself in survival horror. The new waves confirm Konami's long-term commitment, preserving the psychological horror core while experimenting with varied gameplay.
