The SHINOBI Art of Vengeance Switch 2 version went on sale on Thursday, September 24, 2026. The 2D action game from Lizardcube was already on the original Switch, PlayStation, Xbox and PC since August 2025 and now arrives on the new hardware in standard and Digital Deluxe editions.
What happened?
Sega's official Japanese announcement confirms an immediate eShop launch. In Japan the standard edition is 3,300 yen including tax and Digital Deluxe is 4,400 yen. In the United States the standard version is listed at $29.99. Deluxe includes the Starter Pack, the extra SEGA Villains Stage and a digital art book with soundtrack.
SEGA Villains Stage pits Musashi against Dr. Eggman, Goro Majima from Like a Dragon and Death Adder from Golden Axe. On the official Asia site, Sega says original Switch saves can be transferred to Switch 2.
Why it matters
The game was nominated for Best Action Game at The Game Awards 2025. Bringing SHINOBI Art of Vengeance Switch 2 to a crowded launch day expands the handheld catalog of precise 2D action, with music by Yuzo Koshiro and Tee Lopes.
What changes in practice
Owners of the Switch 1 version do not get a free upgrade, but they can migrate progress. New buyers get a version tuned for the hardware and, in Deluxe, the crossover with classic Sega villains.
