Seirei Gensouki 3 is confirmed. The official anime account and an HJ Bunko livestream announced on Wednesday, September 30, 2026, that a third season of Seirei Gensouki: Spirit Chronicles is in production.
What was revealed
There is no premiere date, studio credit for the new season or full staff list. A commemorative visual and a note from author Yuri Kitayama thank fans in Japan and overseas after Season 2 ended.
Kitayama wrote that Season 1 showed Rio's vow of revenge and Season 2 the reunion with the person he sought. Season 3, she said, will complicate what Rio chooses to protect — Celia, Miharu and a past he cannot reclaim.
How we got here
Season 1 premiered in July 2021 on TV Tokyo, directed by Osamu Yamasaki at TMS Entertainment. The 12-episode Season 2 aired in October 2024 under Hiroshi Kubo, with Yamasaki supervising, at TMS and WAO World. Crunchyroll streamed both seasons and added an English dub for Season 2.
The light novel moved from Shosetsuka ni Naro (2014–2020) to Hobby Japan from 2015, with art by Riv. Novel volume 28 is due October 9. J-Novel Club publishes the books and manga in the West.
Why it matters
Long-running isekai rarely get a third season without a stable audience. The confirmation arrives two years after Season 2 ended and without a calendar — the next step is staff and a broadcast window.
